Dini Petty is a Canadian icon and A “Broad” View is her story. It’s a story that people want to hear. There are few women whose life journey takes them where Dini Petty has been. In this show she draws audiences into her personal universe. The audience laughs, cries and occasionally gasps with her honest, true-from-life stories.
Truth with humour is the key to her storytelling, and there are so many stories. At age 22, Dini became the first women in the world to fly a helicopter while doing a broadcast. When she retired her pink jump-suit, it was onto CITY-TV. Dini was one of the originals of the precedent setting CITYPULSE News team. She helped to create a format that has been copied the world over. CITY-TV led her to the studios of CTV where for a decade her talk show Dini, became regular weekday fare for Canadians across the country.
This personal odyssey is a look back into a journey of self discovery, through great times, good times, painful times and even some moments of terror.
