The Ken Nnamani Centre for Leadership and Development seeks to train 20 young Nigerians between the ages of 20-35 through a highly competitive exercise for an 8-week course in its Youth Academy .
The Youth Academy , which is a cardinal component of the Centre’s Emerging Leaders’ Program, seeks to expose youths to various ideas about responsible citizenship and leadership for self-improvement and entrepreneurship.
The Youth Academy is a 32-hour Course spread across eight weekends (Saturdays) of 3-4 hours weekly.
Each session will expose students to aspects of “servant leadership”, citizenship, electoral processes and meaningful participation, gender issues, human rights and conflict resolution among other topics. Students will benefit from the expertise of the KNC's network of renowned professionals and educational leaders through interactive discussions and hands on activities.
Students will be expected to attend at least 80% and submit 90% of assignments of each module to qualify as a Young Fellow of the Academy.
WHO CAN APPLY?
Youths between the ages of 20 and 35 (must be between this age range at the time of graduation-July 2009).
Youths with a passion for self-improvement as well as poised to be agents of change in the “New Nigeria”
Prospective candidates should be available on weekends (Saturdays 09:00-13:00) during the period of the fellowship. Traveling and intangible excuses will not be allowed.
Selected participants will be notified on May 18th 2009 via e-mail with additional information to be provided.
Due to the expected large numbers of applications to be received, the KNC may not be able to reach all those who would not be selected. If you do not receive a mail from us by the start date of the course, you are encouraged to re-apply for the next fellowship.

Considering that Youth leadership development is an essential part of the nation’s future, there is no fee to participate in this program. Operating funds for KNC Youth Academy are obtained through generous corporate sponsorships.
