Imagine not having enough to eat or imagine going to work to support their family at the age of 8. What if they never had the chance to learn to read? We are launching our contest in celebration of Global Youth Service Day 2009. In the months of May and June, students 10 to 18 are invited to participate in our pilot project “Imagine If…….. Story Contest."

In 1500 words or less we ask students to imagine life without running water or education as it reflects back on the MDGs. In the same way, students should "imagine if" these issues no longer troubled our world.
Contestants are requested to author stories that reflect one or more of the issues targeted by the MDGs.

Stories will be judged according to creativity, quality of writing, and the extent to which they promote awareness of one or more of the millennium development goals.

Entries may be in English or in German and should be submitted by Friday, June 5, 2009. We encourage online submissions at Imagineif@sasef.org and mail@storytime-books.com.

All stories will be bound into a book. On Saturday, June 20th at 13:30 every participant is invited to read their stories aloud.

Unique prizes from the ONE Shop
For all participants and special prizes for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place entries.

All proceeds from the event and sale of the book will go to the Shirley Ann Sullivan Educational Foundation www.sasef.org to support their work in helping to achieve the Millennium Development Goals.

The objective of this charity program is to create awareness of and generate funds for the achievement of the United Nation's Millennium Development Goals.
