| The growing challenges posed by climate change have threatened the existence of mankind and young people are entangled at the centre of this fiasco. Youth possess the power and grit to change the climate change with their comparative advantage to adapt and act as agents of change. The vision on South Asian Youth Climate Change Summit is to bring together young people from the South Asia and craft a movement of young people from South Asia contributing all that they can to the collective global effort to redress the climate crisis. This proposal has been developed for the South Asian Youth Summit on Climate Change. The summit will be held at Kathmandu, Nepal during 22-25 August 2009. The summit will bring together around 75 participants from South Asian region and few global youth. It will have plenary session, side events, parallel workshops and trainings. We aim to create a regional youth coalition at the end of this summit which will latter emphasize on joint campaigns, movements and projects in the region. |
