The Institute for Cultural Diplomacy Academy - Posted By: Institute for Cultural Diplomacy Academy
The Institute for Cultural Diplomacy’s Academy
Next Weeklong Seminar: 20th – 24th July, 2009
The Institute for Cultural Diplomacy (www.culturaldiplomacy.org) is currently accepting applications for our July and August Academy sessions.
Who can apply?
The ICD Academy is open to applications from all individuals interested in learning more about the field of cultural diplomacy.
What will the Weeklong Seminar involve?
The Academy sessions will consist of lectures, seminars, workshops, and cultural activities in and around Berlin. The participants will meet with leading figures from the political, diplomatic, academic and civil society spheres to discuss the relationship in question and consider how it can be supported through organised cultural exchange.
Speakers at previous Weeklong Seminars include representatives from the German Foreign Office, the British Embassy in Berlin, the European Commission, Deutsche Welle, the German Parliament, the British Council, and the German Council on Foreign Relations.
What are the aims of the Weeklong Seminar?
The Seminars aim to inform the participants about the field of Cultural Diplomacy and its importance today, raise awareness of key issues in the relationship in focus, create a network between the Seminar participants, and give the participants creative ideas and support for future initiatives.
What happens after the Seminar?
After completing the Weeklong Seminars the participants become members of the respective Forum. They are then supported by the ICD in conducting research, in organising and developing leadership initiatives, and are invited to join the ICD Online Forum where they can network with the other Young Leaders from around the world.
More information about the Seminars, including brochures, timetables, and the online application forms, can be found under the following URL:
