Improving Sustainable Impact and Effectiveness in Peacebuilding, Development and Post-War Recovery Programs and Operations training is the second programme of a group of two in the frame of the IPDTC 2009 Autumn Peace Academy, together with The Peacebuilding, Conflict Transformation & Post-War Stabilisation, Recovery, and Reconciliation training programme.

Improving Sustainable Impact and Effectiveness in Peacebuilding, Development and Post-War Recovery Programs and Operations - Brief Description

Improving Sustainable Impact and Effectiveness in Peacebuilding, Development and Post-War Recovery Programs and Operations is an in-depth operational training in program develoment, design, planning and implementation, drawing comprehensively on best-practice approaches from the fields of peacebuilding, development and humanitarian aid, and post-war recovery, as well as methods and approaches for strategic planning and program and organisational development.

The participants will:
- Draw upon best practices and lessons learned in peacebuilding, development and post-war recovery programme development and implementation to improve the planning and implementation of their programs;
- Develop improved skills for designing relevant and appropriate program and engagement strategies and activities, including crisis management and prevention, peacebuilding, social, economic and political stabilization, reconciliation in divided communities, and post-war recovery, rehabilitation and development;
- Improve relevance, appropriateness and coherence of your programs with needs and contexts;
- Better integrate appropriate and effective design, planning, develoment, and monitoring and evaluation tools into the work of your organization/agency;
- Develop tools to assist your organization/institution/agency for short, medium, and long-term engagement;
