Empowerment to young people for building peace initiatives is under our thematic programme areas, for this purpose we would like to develop a strong network within domestic as well as international territory. Wishing for the same, we seek your financial support to tie up with you in organizing a Youth Peace Workshop on Tuesday, 3rd October 2009 putting the youth leaders of major political youth wings of Nepal with the youth wing leaders of major political parties of India (Bihar & Uttar Pradesh) to ensure the development of youth's role in building a long run peace and sustainability. The program is also aimed at ensuring peace and harmony within the boarder side of the countries, stopping violence and criminal activities, curbing cross boarder terrorism, reducing illegal trade activities, with pressurizing lawmakers in Nepal to proactively address the Madhesh issues.

The workshop is aimed to attend Youth Leaders of major political parties of Nepal with some of the youth leaders of Bihar and Uttar Pradesh of India. In addition, the local political leaders and CA member and Madheshi leaders will have their participation at the workshop. Likewise participants from the Government (national, regional, and district and community level), NGO’s and CBO’s, responsible police officers, National Commissions and the UN System represented in Nepal will also honor the workshop as the key participants. All in all, the total number of participants will be under 100.

A joint declaration for active participation to this proposed workshop has been signed by some of the youth wings of Nepal's political parties. Likewise, some youth leaders of Bihar & UP of India have also agreed on participating the workshop. Their latest names have been compiled.

Workshop Objectives
The objective will identify for the workshop overall related to finding "building harmonious relationship amongst leaders of India and Nepal with youths leaders". The specific objectives are the following:
• To explore issues of conflict prevention, peace building and linkages between peace and development in within the border side
• To develop a courteous relation between Youth Leaders of India and Nepal
• To combat cross border terrorism, anti-trafficking, drug business other heinous crimes
• To identify and recommend preventive measures to address some of the Madhesh issues in the present situation in Nepal; and,
• To explore practical means and methods for enhancing capacities of local youth to operate in difficult circumstances.
