Through its conference (FIKR) held annually in November or in December, the Arab Thought Foundation brings together Arab leaders, intellectuals and pioneers in culture, technology, media, development, youth and government with their international counterparts to discuss the dynamic transformations that are shaping the changes in the Arab World. Audience size is limited to 500 persons.
Goals: The ATF’s annual conference’s objectives may be summarized by the following:
• To gather intellectuals and experts involved in the issues raised in the conference, to discuss the ways of development in the Arab world.
• To support the interaction and dialogue between various international and regional organizations thus constituting a factor of richness.
• To identify the new development visions and strategies and to face the challenges that rise ahead.
• To give the inter-Arab cooperation as well as with non Arabs greater effectiveness and efficiency, by promoting it from exchange level to knowledge coordination and integration level.
• To emphasize on the importance of disseminating the values that help launching the inherent capabilities of the Arabs.
• To emphasize on the role of the young generation and their role in addressing the challenges that hinder the advancement of the nation, away from religious and sectarian backgrounds, in order to build a civil society that serves the future of the Arab world.
• To necessarily introduce developmental reforms, not only on the structural and economical level, but on the intellectual, cultural, social and environmental levels as well.
• To create a conductive environment for positive communication and interaction between the ATF members and the participants.
• To promote information exchange and to deepen mutual respect between Arab leaders and their international counterparts.
• To emphasize on new ideas and initiatives, and to activate communications between participants in order to engage them into future FIKR conferences.
ARAB THOUGHT FOUNDATION: The Arab Thought foundation is an international, independent non-profit and non-governmental organization. Formed in January 2001, the Arab Thought Foundation is an initiative developed collaboratively by intellectuals and businessmen to provide value to the Arab identity. Among other important goals, the Foundation aims to “initiate cultural and media programs which contribute to a better understanding of the Arab civilization on an international scope.” |
