African Leadership Academy and Gap Year Program - Posted By: elmahdi oummih
I’m writing to tell you about an opportunity of a lifetime! African Leadership Academy is currently selecting the next group of Africa’s best 100 young leaders to join us in September 2011. It’s a fantastic opportunity for a bright, motivated young person with leadership potential to join this institution that aims to change the face of Africa. The Deadline is December 12th.
We provide a solid academic education, Cambridge International Examinations (CIE) A-level curriculum, that enables our students to enter great universities after ALA in addition to the incredible hands-on experiences we provide for our students in Leadership, Entrepreneurship and African Studies. To date, young leaders have been admitted into universities like Ashesi University in Ghana, University of Cape Town in South Africa, Oxford, MIT, Stanford, Yale, University of Pennsylvania, Columbia University, AND MANY OTHERS. They continue preparing applications to universities in Canada, Asia, Australia, Europe and, of course, ACROSS AFRICA!
We continue developing these future leaders through various stages of their lives connecting them to powerful networks of people and capital. To this end, we and would love to interview you for a Leadership project. We have identified you as a leader, and firmly believe that young leaders need role models such as yourself. As a role model for future leaders, we would like to have a biography for you so that our young students can learn from your experiences in order to model their lives after yours.
Do you know of any talented young leaders in Africa between the ages of 16 and 19 that you think would be great candidates for ALA? If so, please encourage them to apply! Please also share this word with parents you know. Any contacts you have who can give ALA publicity in the media, who are in Ministries of Education, NGOs that work with young people, etc would also be extremely helpful to us.
If you would like to refer us to any such contacts, email me at eoummih@africanleadershipacademy.org. Financial assistance is available. The first round application deadline is December 12th 2010. For more information, please visit our website, www.africanleadershipacademy.org.
Please let me know if you have any questions, and thank you for your help!
Kind regards,
