DetailsAbout

Volunteer policy

FOTOCAM-HURCERD is a not for profit organisation deriving most of its funding from donors and its workforce from Volunteers. FOTOCAM-HURCERD volunteers are national as well as foreign. With work durations ranging from 2-24 months, our volunteers and interns are placed in key positions within the organisation that will give them the opportunity to exercise their skills and be more productive to the organisation. Same goes to our interns who often come in with academic qualifications but not always with work experience requiring careful and coordinated follow-up and mentoring.

FOTOCAM-HURCERD’s volunteers program is designed to be a win-win situation; giving our volunteers another chance to render service, enrich their CV , and in most cases have some time for tourism. The organisation on the other hand gain from the knowledge and work of our volunteers, enrich our profile, build worldwide presence and form the needed partnership base to raise funds for our activities.

FOTOCAM-HURCERD Volunteer Policy
FOTOCAM-HURCERD volunteer policy shows that care and thought has gone into how volunteers will be treated. It will also ensure fairness and consistency, because being able to refer to a written policy will mean that decisions are not made on an ad hoc basis and that all volunteers are treated equally and fairly. A policy is also important from the volunteers’ perspective as it ensures that they know where they stand. They will know what they can expect and where they can turn to if they feel things are going wrong. Volunteer Policy Recruitment

We use appropriate means to advertise for volunteers locally and internationally that take into account the principles of our Equal Opportunities and Diversity Policies. The applicant will have to complete an application form, but help can be given with this if necessary. The applicant will be contacted by the (appropriate person) within 3-4 working days.

However, it is important that FOTOCAM-HURCERD is able to maintain its agreed standards of service to the participating communities, and it is also important that volunteers should enjoy making their contribution to these communities and to FOTOCAM-HURCERD mission a priority of their stay.
If your role as a volunteer does not meet with the FOTOCAM-HURCERD’s standards, here is how it will be dealt with:

1.Initially through a meeting with the program coordinator who will explain the concerns.
2.If this does not resolve the concern then a meeting with the chair of the management committee will be convened.
3.If your work still does not meet with our standards then we shall have to stop using your services.
4.At all times you will be able to freely state your case.

If you are dissatisfied with any aspect of your work you should:

1.Initially explain your dissatisfaction with the team leader
