The true state of Nigeria situation and the 2011 election - Posted By: adeniyi temidayo
Politics is a dirty game is a common saying on the lips of every citizen of this great country Nigeria. And it’s simply the way politics is done in Nigeria as a whole.
After the independence in 1960, leadership has taken different shapes and dimension, also different regime has come and gone, sometimes ago what I called semi-democracy is practice, at a point in time a full military rule take charge for a very long period of time till late 90’s, when Nigeria witness change of power to total democracy after the demise of a military dictator.
The new era saw the coming back of a military man that has server during the military era two term into office to lead the great country into its greener pasture, making him the first democracy president after the annulment of chief MKO Abiola during the June 12 saga, and with the hope of seeing that a change will be effected because he has rule in an era where you can say your mind, bring suggestion on how things should be done or better still opinion. But what is obtained is dictator in disguise. After people tends to believe that a journey of thousands mile start or may I say begin with a step and that a long destroy situation cannot be put in back in place in just a night, which saw his second coming of this same ruler into power on it democracy rule. But the people believe or hope was a disappointment and a slap to the face of every Nigeria both home and abroad, and to the people surprise He came around to ask for third term which has just send signal to the people that if proper care is not taking, dictator is coming and its around the corner. Then the issue has gone beyond once bitten twice shy, because many now came to understand that cabal exist in the ruling set of people that govern the nation. The table is set for different people to use different method to advance the economic of the country but the same set of people that has been ruling since the 70s are the one ruling up till this present era and they are just turning the table round themselves. This was further reveal when third term agenda was not permitted and the then president discovered that the people has made up their mind and there is strong feeling to it that they are not going back on the issue even the so called senators and honorable are in the support of anti-third term move. He further decide within himself to handover to another person on the table which happen to be a brother to a former colleague and to appreciate or further strengthen their deal that power is not leaving their table and for him to continue to rule from behind, one way or the other.
They designed a strategy of stealing the ballot boxes and ensured that they bought those are assign to chair the electoral seat in other to ensure that they are fully favored one way or the other , during the time of their campaign, lots happened that put so many family into chaos and an unforgettable memory and experience. They do things like kidnapping a fellow colleague that is running for the same post they are also running for or family member in other for the colleague to surrender or even withdraw from running , at a point in time they hire assassin to get rid of fellow colleague, or somebody that is very dearly to them or someone one that has their secret, some many innocent blood were shed and some sent to the great world beyond, some that were still in power and are still willing to come back use anti-graft agent to wage war against their counterpart pending the time the election will be over so that colleague will be nursing court charges making him not having time to nurture his political ambition. The most annoying aspect is that most innocent blood are shed in the name of rituals and mass blood shed is their intention, some of them (the politician) imports guns and ammunition into the country when election is around the corner and they shared it among touts, while keeping their family, friend and wards abroad of which after the election they can not be returned or collected back, but leaving it to the detriment of the poor masses. Overtime citizens have experience different kind of battle from the so-called senators and honorable leaving many young and fresh blood waste away, to an extent international body that understudy the country environment and some professional learner has describes Nigeria as an environment where TALENT ARE BEEN WASTED. In fact a local popular hip hop artist in the country stated it categorically that talent are been wasted in Nigeria.
So many graduates are produced in our various universities from various fields of disciplines ranging from engineering, economist, human resource to mention but a few, but the country economic is at stake, while the power sector has been the major issue.
Our industries are producing sub-standard goods in other to make more profit. This has also given room to the importation of sub-standard drugs and has turned the country into a dumping ground for the developed countries out there. Some importers are even and intentionally importing dangerous and harmful materials into the country. At the expense of the young and old, putting their life at risk and in danger.
The healthcare of this great nation is nothing to ride home about. This can be confirmed in the recent health condition of the late president Umar Musa Yar’adua. If the health care of the country is in good order, there is no need to travel abroad on the ground of health for closed to good 3 months putting the country at a full stop and as well give the so called cabal access to embezzle money, it only take the pressure group several attempt to permit the two house to allow or give the vice president access to keep ruling pending the time the president health will be alright and for him to rule in the absence of the president which is approximately a week after the announcement of the passing- away of the president .
The safety of life and properties are not guaranteed in the country with the security agent, Hence, several promises are made and are yet to be fulfilled, countless are the number of abandoned project s. among all these, the 2011 election is around the corner and I want this to server as a reminder and an eye-opener to every citizen of this great nation Nigeria regarding the forthcoming election. Come 2011 what shall we be expecting? Nigeria we need a change, fresh blood need to be introduced into the system. Research has showed that the average age of those that has been ruling this country is 58years and above. While some of them even declare a fake age in other to fits in. This is the real Nigeria situation and not the disguised one they pretend to be, which is why most Nigerian abroad think very fast before they take action and the level/rate at which we learn under an inconvenient condition makes us to fits in into any environment we met ourselves. The Nigeria that is shown to the international bodies is the pretend type. This is to mention a few of what a common citizen of the great nation experience day-in, day-out.
Having x-rayed and make known what goes down within Nigeria, we don’t actually need to bring out the problem without providing or suggesting the way out of the problem which we think can actually help the situation and if strictly adhered to or taking into consideration reduce the problem if it did not totally eradicate the problem. The expected leader that is needed in Nigeria of today is a person of selflessness, integrity, a man of his word. A man that can actually prove it wrong that politics is not a dirty game, stand by rule of law and respect it, ready to carry the citizen along and having them in mind in all his planning. Preferably a fresh, tender, young and dynamic leader who is ready to change and move with the global trends and be ready to diversify on things that can actually move the country forward and merge it with the other countries to be rated among top 10 countries in the world that control the economic of the world in all ramification.
Issues to be sorted out first and foremost is POWER which play a major role in the economic of Nigeria, exploration of more minerals resources because we have up to 35 different types of mineral resources where some needs to be rejuvenate and others need to be put in place, raise the standard of leaving making sure that the people leave above a dollar a day, house for all( can not be achieved in a short while), preferably a low cost and well planned housing scheme should be put in place where the rich will not take part in buying like 5 or 6 and make not enough to the masses, employment availability to the young graduate or better still entrepreneur skills in vocational training to reduce the level of unemployment in the country, provision of a functional basic amenities to mention a few.
And I will like to state categorically that we had people that have been working tirelessly, selflessly for the masses and they are people like the governor of Lagos State, the governor of Ilorin, and some credible governors in the east and partially in the north. If we can have like 10 governors of the great ideas of this few mentioned governors, the country will move very fast in a short while and make it one of the most respected country in term of fast changing and moving with global trends. GOD BLESS NIGERIA

WARNING TO THE NIGERIA AND HER TYPE OF POLITICS. - Posted By: adeniyi temidayo
Currently in the Africa continent, the issues on ground is the violent in and out of the continent, take a proper look into some Africa countries like Cote D’voir where President Gbagbo still involve in the killing of people like their is an order of manslaughter, take a look into Libya, where Muammar Ghadaffi refuse to relinquish power and the people really need change of power and more of the Africa countries are still under this stress, and its only few African countries that are not feeling this Heat and if proper look is take into consideration concerning those African countries that are not feeling this heats, it will be discovered that some serious heat is on going in those countries, Nigeria should learn about the current issue on the rampage in the Africa countries and we should take a proper look into this issue and the fact will still remain that Nigerian that are the enduring type will one day flared up and researched has showed that the very person who is slow to anger will be the one that will bite too hard when such person got pushed o the wall, and not to even talk about the lesson Nigerian might have learnt from the other countries in the African environment and by the time Nigerian will be pushed to the wall, its going to be a thing that the whole world can not behold because they will combine all hey have learnt from the other African countries and add little of their own knowledge to that they have learnt but the believe in Nigeria is that she is inseparable.
Another look into the chaos that are gradually ranging in the Nigeria environment are the likes of the so-called and Al-Queda empowered Islamic sect called BOKO HARRAM, that are stylishly creeping into some states of the nation, some remnant of the so called MEND that dares the power of our so called people in government and some other governmental agencies and they are also letting the innocent citizen to know that the so called security personnel can not help the issue on ground when they are ready to disrupt the whole nation and some other ones that are just underground issues, ranging from the killing of innocent citizens, with some unnecessary riot from different facet of the country.
As Nigerian goes to the polling booth come April to elect another set of people to govern them and some other to remain in office base on how they have utilized there post when they were in office during the out going regime, and some political party are going from states to state in other to canvass the people to vote for them, some people in the state will welcome them when they discover that who they are canvassing for is a person that they can rely on and on the other hand the story is a different one. Take a look into the movement of the PDP campaign in some state that went through with ease while in some other states, the likes of Suleja in Niger State, its a bombing issue and the security agent can not find a swift solution to such issue, despite the fact that the incumbent president is a member of this party. He (the President) is letting the people of the Nigeria to realize that this forthcoming election is going to be a different ball game entirely and they are the one proclaiming that politics is not a DO-OR-DIE affair and in some states there is collision of parties, having campaign at the same time and at a venue somehow close to each other. But I will like to make it clear right here that politics is not a do-or-die issue, its only that the way Nigeria goes about there own kind of politics that makes it to look like that and this notion need change, because they re not sending a good signal to the forthcoming generation. That alone is not paving way to clear the rumbles of errors that are still remaining as regard politics errors.
The choice of whom we elect to be our leader determines what kind of service and level of maturity, sense of belonging and diplomacy character such person possess, we should be expecting from such person. Currently in the world today as the world is really changing and things are rapidly advancing in every facet of human endeavor, we need a leader who is ready to make change and move with global trends based on changes that affect life positively, research further show that people that make changes in these current time are the young one and the old ones that are young at heart, by young ones I mean people in their early 50’s. take a look at President Obama of USA, Governor Raji Fashola of Lagos State, Governor Bukola Saraki of Kwara State and some other northern and eastern states governors that falls in this age bracket and they utilize the allocated state funds properly and make judicious use of their own state generated funds to better the well-being of the people of the state, with service ranging from good school, good road, provision of basic social amenities, hospital facilities and the likes. These are the kind of people to be emulated based on their level of diplomacy and maturity they have shown and sense of belonging, with the believe system of giving back to the community that breed and produce them.
To end it all, this is a special warning note goes to the people of Nigerians and the politicians that are seeking for post come 2011 election which is not far from our nostrils, and also not excluding those ones that are still in office right both those that are still looking forward to come back and those that are not having it in plan to come back at all…
With humility in my heart I say God bless Nigeria and we will be able to stand by our slogan which says “GOOD PEOPLE, GREAT NATION”.
