Please come and listen to Louise Comeau (Federation of Canadian Municipalities sustainable communities program) and Severn Cullis-Suzuki (daughter of David Suzuki and respected youth advocate of the environment) discuss what sustainable communities are and how young people are attracted to cities that pursue sustainable priorities. If you are an environmental practitioner, government employee involved in environment, education or economic development policy, teacher, student, or an economic development and tourism professional you will not want to miss this event.
After both presentations citizens will have the opportunity to tell the City of Winnipeg's Civic Environmental Committee what they think Winnipeg needs to position itself as Canada's most sustainable city. Your comments will help finalize a comprehensive environmental strategy to be presented to City Council in July. Details of this strategy can be viewed at www.winnipegcec.org. Please distribute this notice to others. |
