The ASEM Youth Dialogue is a series of meetings that the Asia-Europe Foundation organises annually to enable youth leaders from Asia and Europe to exchange views with their counterparts from other countries, define the role of the youth in addressing these challenges, and formulate a set of recommendations that could be channelled to the leaders of the Asia-Europe Meeting (ASEM).
The ASEM Youth Statement, considered as the key outcome of the meeting, shall for this year be handed over by the youth leaders to HE Mrs Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo, President of the Republic of the Philippines, who shall accept it on behalf of the leaders of ASEM.
During the meeting, emphasis will be placed on specific topics such as managing multicultural and multi-religious societies, the threat of terrorism and transnational crime, and the impact of the current migratory trends on societies in Asia and Europe. The meeting is co-organised by the Asia-Europe Foundation and the Ayala Foundation Inc, and supported by the Philippine National Youth Commission. |
