DetailsAbout
A. Project Details.

“communities develop through activities of volunteers” is a project that aims to provide educational support to children with fewer educational support opportunities at Busua and surrounding villages and Towns at Ahanta West, in the Western region of Ghana at Busua Community Library to help them to improve upon their knowledge and level of education. The focus is to be able to integrate into the Ghanaian society positively. This event is also aimed to enhance the talents of volunteers studying or with interest in social activities to know more about cultural diversities and economic potentials in Ghana.

Busua community Library and home-stay would be the venue for all activities of our future volunteers. Not to stand that volunteers could be asked to help in other village such as Butre which is about 4 kilometres from Busua Town. Busua beach is considered one of the most beautiful beaches in Ghana. yet the community education level is still one of the poorest at Ahanta West in Western region of Ghana. 7 out of 10 youth here at Junior secondary school at Busua cannot read and write well. Children are still seen not going to school and roaming around on the street during school hours. Children are still not use to using libraries. Children are still begging foriegners for money. The young men at Busua see white girls as one means of success in life by dating them so that they can ravel to Europe. Prostitution is also increasing here. Children here have learnt to lie in order to achieve success.

Our mission here is to help empower children in these towns so that they can have their own destiny in their own hands in the future to help transform Busua beach and hope other coastlines with similar challenges will be able to learn from them too. Any activities or ideals to help us achieve this is welcome at Busua community Library and home-stay in Ghana.

Volunteers have the choice to decide how many dates they would like to set-up. Infact we accept any number of days, months or years you wish to help these children.
