This virtual Poetry Slam will connect students with several young poets from a variety of conflict settings in the Middle East as well as with experts in the field. We will look at how poetry has been used in both the past and the present to bear witness to conflict and to respond to oppression. Students will have the opportunity to share and discuss their own poetry and engage in dialogue with other students around the world and a panel of guest poets. This promises to be an engaging and inspiring video conference! The cost for this one-part session is $100 US/CAD per class.
