| The Transit of Venus occurs when Venus passes directly between the earth and the sun. The planet will appear as a small dot moving along the sun's surface. We are hosting a live event with schools around the world which will include opportunities to view the transit as it occurs live from viewing centres in Australia and the University of Alberta in Edmonton, Canada, collect and share data with participating schools, and hear from scientists about the importance of the event. Leading up to the live conference, there will be lessons plans available to study the math and science of the transit, create a viewing apparatus, and learn about the history of the transit of Venus. |
