The Network of Regional Government for sustainable development (NRG4SD) was created at the World Summit for Sustainable Development in Johannesburg as a solution to the lack of presence of Sub-state or Sub-national governments in International Forums. Since most of the politics or policy decisions with regard to WSSD do not happen or are not taken by the central government of the States, but rather are of Regional Administrations.
