From the 29th of February to the 7th of March 2004, AEGEE-Amsterdam is organizing in cooperation with Young Israeli Forum for Cooperation, Palestinian Vision and dialogue lab a conference in Amsterdam, with the title:
"The European Role in the Israeli-Palestinian Conflict: Perceptions and Future Possibilities". A conference for European, Israeli, and Palestinian students.
The general objective of this conference is to enable students from both parties of the conflict and European students to exchange their views on the Israeli-Palestinian conflict and to become aware of the different perceptions of the 'other'. In addition to the aim of promoting dialogue between people and a peaceful coexistence, the conference aims at building structures for future projects where young Europeans, Palestinians and Israelis can have an active role in the Israeli-Palestinian peace process.
During the conference, participants will be divided into workshops to discuss certain themes of the conflict more deeply. Several lectures will examine certain issues related to the workshops and esp. regarding Europe's role in the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.
The intention is to gather 32 well-informed and highly motivated European, Israeli, and Palestinian students with particular interest in the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.
The fee for this conference is 70 Euros, which includes 7 nights in a hostel, 3 meals per day and a social program.
