The Council of Europe, the European Commission and
the Safe Borders Consortium is organising a Forum on the theme "Internet
with a human face - a common responsibility" at the Hotel Sofitel, Warsaw,
on 26 and 27 March.
The Forum will look at problems related to the Internet, including illegal
and prejudiced content, human rights protection - especially when linked to
children and private life, piracy, 'spams' and viruses. It will bring
together people working in the field and experts from all over Europe:
public and private decision-makers, NGOs working on child protection, young
people, parents, teachers and professors, and representatives from the media
and information technology industry. They will focus on recent developments
in the areas of regulation of cyber content and study how to reach a common
goal of an Internet with a human face.
The Forum will be organised into workshops on the role of education, law
enforcement, ethical issues and technological protection.
The Forum is open to the press.
