"Achieving sustainable lifestyles and a caring society"

The current plan is to have four streams of activity going on simultaneously through the Congress:

- Action Projects around Scotland - social and environmental : fish farms, sustainable forestry, new immigrant induction programmes etc.
- Skills Workshops - as in Morocco - how to raise funds, how to get a job at the UN, how to manage a project etc. - but with a wider variety:
- Discussions of the UN documents up for review - the World Programme of Action for Youth, the World Youth Report + the European Youth White paper etc.
- Debate - about how to improve the Casablanca Declaration on how youth can most effectively contribute to sustainable development and the MDGs.

The above plan is what we shall be discussing at the Prepcom. We shall also be brainstorming ideas for speakers, cultural events, Congress outputs, media strategy, celebrity endorsements, action projects, skills workshops etc. etc. This will be our morning activity every day. In the afternoon and evenings, we shall be joining the rest of the Summer School participants in their programme of workshops, games, dances, theatre events and feasts! Also, the European Union has asked us to use this meeting to provide them with constructive ideas on how they should set up the proposed new European Youth Humanitarian Voluntary Aid Corps. Some of us will have to produce a paper on that! We shall also begin the +10 assessment of the UN
