The Montezuma Castle, a Queen Anne style resort hotel built in 1885 and left derelict since 1972, has at last been fully restored and now houses UWC student and faculty residences, classrooms, the college dining hall, the student recreation center, and administrative offices.
The Castle also houses the new Bartos Institute for the Constructive Engagement of Conflict (CEC), providing international mediation training and a place for CEC techniques to be explored and used, in conjunction with the already active UWC CEC program (formerly known as Conflict Resolution).
Ordinarily closed to the public, the Castle will be open to the public on October 20 from 1pm to 5pm, and guided tours of historic spaces will be available. |
