The CivAsia Student Conference Series serves as a venue for meaningful discourse among top university student leaders who seek to capably exercise their citizenship and thereby contribute to the dynamic development of Asian civilization in the 21st century. It provides students from varying cultural backgrounds with the opportunity to engage in meaningful dialogue-reasoned conversation-which UA&P maintains, is the foundation of civilization.
The conference series is progressive. This year, the conference series consists of a Regional Workshop and a Student Conference. The former is a workshop held in Visayas-Mindanao (Davao City, 24-25 September 2004) with the objective of bringing the Conference theme to student leaders in these areas. The input from these workshops will help inform the National Student Conference (28-30 October 2004). The latter, on the other hand, is a conference characterized by structured sessions, which allow delegates to engage in intense discussions through working groups and parliamentary sessions. Discussions are prefaced by presentations of resource speakers. Views are exchanged regarding the conference topics, and resolutions are created and voted upon, during the plenary sessions. The conference participants are delegations of student leaders from our country, the Philippines.
Throughout these activities, participants discuss key issues pertaining to the conference theme and agree on principles of action and resolutions that reassert university student involvement in building the future of Asia.
