Presentation of papers on the Rights and Responsibilities of Asylum Seeker presented by Resource persons from Local/International Human Rights Organisations and the Department of Home Affairs South Africa.
Many immigrants take up Asylum seekers status without understanding what it is and the implications. This event is aimed at bringing together Asylum seeker, NGOs working involved with this and related topic to get educated on "Asylum seeker Status".
The topics of discussion will centre on the following:
- What is Asylum and who can apply for it
- How to apply for Asylum (South African context)
- Right and responsibilities of Asylum Seekers
- How to change the status
