Name of the Open Forum: Youth Participation in Egypt
Specific issues that the Open Forum will focus on:
This Open Forum seeks to give youth in Egypt the opportunity to exchange experiences on the topic as well as discuss the opportunities available to them. It also seeks to show how TIG can help boost participation for youth in Egypt at the local, national, and international levels.

Note: The Open Forum will be taking place in English and Arabic.
Rationale for holding this Open Forum:
The Forum takes place in correspondence with the first Alexandria Volunteering Festival and the International Volunteers Day, where volunteerism is only one example of participation. With more and more youth participating in Egyptian society, the topic is gaining momentum. As such, the Forum comes at a time when it is important for young people to discuss the advantages as well as the hindrances to participation, and how they can work together to diminish these obstacles.
Goals the organizer hopes to achieve by holding this Open Forum for youth in the community:
- understand the context that Egyptian youth are participating in
- give Egyptian youth the chance to connect and exchange resources
- provide concrete solutions to future participation
