The EWB 2005 National Conference seeks to raise an understanding among the EWB membership of key issues and challenges associated with international development. This year's conference will explore the necessary steps and actions to foster effective development at the grass roots, and make connections between the social, cultural, economic, and environmental impacts of development work. While there is no single framework for effective development, understanding the connections between the impacts of various projects is crucial to good development practice. The objective of this conference is to strengthen EWB by building the capacity of its members with regard to how they think about development.
The conference will unite EWB members from opposite ends of the country, who share a common vision of building a world of opportunity, freedom and dignity for all. Allowing members to make connections with other members will help strengthen the organization. Making connections will allow members to share best practices and recognize excellence. Members will also have the opportunity to explore EWB's role in development, the future of EWB, EWB's work in Canada and ways to strengthen chapters. This will also allow members to understand their role in the organization and how they contribute to the bigger picture
