Identity Through Celebration
A youth Exchange project ,withen the Euro-Med youth Exchange Program , hosted by the Sustainable Development association in Egypt , with partners from Sweden , Finland , Tunisia & Lebanon & will took place in Febreuary 2005
The main Theme of the Project is Identity
Idenitity , exepressed by customs , traditions , art , which reflects the civilisation and the culture of each country & the main way to express your identity is Celebration .
Now , after the globalization and the international communication became more easier
the traditional celebrations have been changed in the world & even inbetween the same country Border
In this project , our goal is to find the real impact of globalization on the identity of the nations , Which Might Reflects their celebrations customs .
The youth exchange will be undertaken throught several activities that is to find a solution to preserve the tradtional heritages
The projects will be implemented on two parts ,
The first will be in Alexandria (an Egyptian Cosmopolitan modern crowded city with population more than 5 million inhabitant ) as a port open by sea to other cultures
The second will be in Siwa (an Oasis , in the western desert , with population less than 3000 inhabitant ), as a rural area .. isolated open on the desert .
The Participants can creat a self knowledge about the Culture differences in side the same country but in different geographic , demographic distribution areas , we will notice that the oasis save the old culture more than the big city that changes by time . and compare between the effect of the sea and the desert on people .
About SDA
Sustainable Development Association ( SDA ) is a real youth organization , as the co-founders and the board are considered to the Youngest Board in Egypt .
Our activities based on developing the community through developing the youth skills Through several Programs incooperation with many international agencies , so all our activities are from youth & toward youth .
We host many international youth campaigns like: (Youth Employment Summit –YES Campaign ) & We shared in many Euro-Med Activities & we believe that this program is a great opportunity for youth
