Franciscan Youth International is pleased to announce that we will be conducting youth leadership workshops this summer. The goal of the workshops is to generate a passion for change through knowledge of social issues and how to act upon them. By informing students on general issues (care for creation, concern for poor, human rights, peace) and how non governmental organizations advocate at the United Nations, we hope to inspire students to bring the issues alive on campus by providing them with practical information, skills, and tools.
We are seeking up to four students from Franciscan universities to participate in the workshop. Each session will be composed of at least twenty students, representing different colleges and universities. Campus ministers or faculty are welcome to participate as well. (Participants must be at least age 18. Please contact the group leader if you have questions regarding this or the possibility of bringing a workshop to a high school, campus, or community near you!)
Franciscan Youth International is looking for bright, energetic, and motivated students. You do not have to be “an expert” with social activism nor do you need to know the issues; these skills and knowledge can be learned at this workshop. Recognizing that you can have an impact on your world is the first step. Being motivated to learn how to be involved and effectively impact is the next step.
Please contact the Youth Outreach Coordinator for Franciscan Youth International with any questions.
