Rationale for holding this Open Forum:
It is important for all communities to be involved with common interest filmmaking that supports positive, interesting and informative alternative media productions that focus on the environment, social responsibility, interfaith, community service, cultural diversity, and FUN and educational ARTS & EDUCATION film projects.
Goals the organizer hopes to achieve by holding this Open Forum for youth in the community:
By the youth being involved in a yearly Nonviolence Film Fest, and taking it global, the focus of the funders and the media makers in LA and other parts of the world will take notice and the media created by the youth will not only teach them nonviolence and educate them on what is going on in their own communities, but it will give them a global outreach through participation in distribution of youth films.
