The DGF is a venue where academics, government officials, businessmen, students, the media and development workers and volunteers come together to discuss and reflect on current issues and trends that affect the nation. The UP-NCPAG has successfully held six DGFs that have been most fruitful and well attended.
With the theme CIVIC ACTION AGAINST CORRUPTION, the 7th DGF shall focus on the efforts of citizens and civil society groups in the drive against corruption. It provides an opportunity for civil society organizations to share their experiences, challenges, and successes in fighting graft and corrupt behavior at the local or national levels. Their success stories can inspire others that something can be done. The obstacles and challenges they face can serve as a clarion call for the need to consolidate efforts, continue to be vigilant and vigorously push for anti-corruption values and practices among the citizenry.
Key resource speakers were invited to share their accomplishments as anti-corruption advocates and graft buster/watchers as these are significant contributions in the fight against the menace that continues to prevail in the country. They will highlight the strategies that they use, the challenges that they had to hurdle, their strengths and areas of success, as well as their future plans for further anti-corruption efforts.
