Shanti Day was a day of action and education on the Millennium Development Goals at the University of Calgary in Alberta, Canada. It was held on the Internaitonal Day for the Eradication of Poverty, October 17th 2005.
The work continues! Canadian organisations like Engineers Without Borders Canada are committed to engaging the public in raising awareness around the MDG's.
This is the sixth year since the MDG's were agreed to by world leaders as a comprehensive framework of targets to promote human development across the world. Progress is mixed, but as youth we must ensure that these targets stay on the radar of world leaders, our own national politicans and even our local community organisations.
