The Cameroon Association for the Protection and Education of the Child (CAPEC) will be organising in collaboration with, YES Cameroon, UNDP Youth Spokes Persons for Africa 2015(MDGs), AIESEC Cameroon, OFLIC Cameroon, Youth Alert, Conseil Jeune, Cameroon Youths and Students Forum for Peace(CAMYOSFOP), Association Jeunesse Verte Cameroon(AJVC) and Association ONE FATHER a Cameroon Youth Leadership Forum from the 6th to 9th February 2006.It will be attended by one hundred and twenty young leaders from across the country.
The purpose of the forum is to reflect on, review and evolve concrete action plans in the implementation of the MDGs and Poverty Reduction Action Plan among the Cameroonian youths. The forum programme will focus on six key themes: Youths Entrepreneurs/Empowerment, Environment sustainability, employment creation, Information and Communication Technology for Development, Education for all, and Peace and non-violence.

Forum Goals and Objectives:

1. To create a platform for young leaders to plan concrete projects that directly contribute to the development efforts of Cameroon and to develop their leadership skills
2. To bring together young leaders from various fields of endeavour and expertise, to identify Cameroon’s challenges
3. To identify the roles of young Cameroonians in the achievement of major international frameworks like the Millennium Development Goals, New Partnership for Africa’s Development and the World Action Programme for the Youths
4. To create opportunities for youths to express their dreams and expectations about the future of Cameroon and to seek practical ways to align these with the national development of Cameroon.
5. To start closer cooperation with youth organisation from other countries and to invite major donors and International Organisation to provide short –term internship programs for youths.
