The United Nations General Assembly will commemorate the tenth anniversay of the World Program of Action for Youth in October 2005. The UN will be holding the following events for this commemoration: (Please note, youth organizations wishing to attend are REQUIRED TO pre-register by September 9, 2005).
*October 3, 2005
Orientation for Youth Delegates and Youth NGO's attending the anniversay events.
*October 4, 2005
The United Nations Program on Youth will launch its publication called "World Youth Report 2005" as a part of this weeks events.
*October 5, 2005
The General Assembly decided to hold, prior to the plenary meetings an informal, interactive roundtable discussion on the theme "Young People: Making Commitments Matter". The discussion will be open to the participation of Member-States, Observers, UN organizations and Youth NGO's.
*October 6, 2005:
The General Assembly will hold two plenary meetings on 6 October 2005, one in the morning and another in the afternoon devoted to the progress made in the implementation of WPAY. During these meetings, Member States will present their views on this topic. Youth organizations and representatives are invited to observe these meetings pending registration.
There will also be several side-events throughout the week.
