These events will mark the official launch of a regular series of symposiums on youth issues designed to act as a forum to network and exchange best practice as well as celebrate and recognise the breadth and scope of youth-led initiatives in Australia. Each Symposium would have a theme to spark debate across a diverse audience and encourage informal policy discussions such population and sustainable development.
The Symposium would have a moderated and facilitated component such as a panel discussion or workshop as well as an informal networking component. Each Symposium would address the need for action and suggest the formation of action plans to follow up on discussions and ideas. Symposiums could eventually be run simultaneously in key Australian cities and linked by video and/or web conferencing facilities. Youth from other countries could also be linked to the Symposiums with available technology.
