What is National Youth Week?
National Youth Week (NYW) is an annual feature on Australia's youth calendar and provides a platform to reach young people aged 12 to 25 in every Australian State and Territory.
National Youth Week is run for young people, by young people. At the National level, six youth representatives play a vital role in directing the shape and success of NYW.
National Youth Week is coordinated by the Youth Bureau of the Commonwealth Department of Family and Community Services (FaCS) in collaboration with the Departments responsible for youth affairs in all States and Territories.
What is Happening?
NYW encourages young people to get out and:
Share ideas
Participate in NYW events
Have a voice on issues of concern to them
Present their talents
Take part in competitions.

Is the theme chosen by young people around Australia for NYW 2002. For young people, "Bring It On!" represents

Who Is Involved?
National Youth Week is the single largest celebration event for young Australians targeting:
32,500 High Schools
More than 300 Universities and TAFE Colleges
600,000 young Australians at University and TAFE.

National Online Talent Competition
The NYW online talent competitions provide the perfect stage for all young people to express themselves.
These competitions encourage young people to put their music, filmmaking, digital art and writing talents to the test.
Across two age groups, 12 to 17 years and 18 to 25 years, young people can enter one or more of the talent categories.
Judged by industry experts, the finalists in each category will be placed on the NYW website for a final vote by the people who count - young Australians.

DesignIT
