III International Festival of Noncommercial Internet Projects is starting on the 19th of December, 2005. The Festival has been held since 2003 by Union of Webmasters of Russia supported by the Federation Council of Russian Federation, bodies of executive power, large public and commercial organizations. In two years over 100,000 people from Russia and 16 countries of the world took part in it. The Festival triggered many socially significant Internet projects opening them for the public at large.
The aim of the festival is popularization of information technologies, the development of independent non-profit sector of the Internet and support of public initiatives.
Festival participants: private individuals without age restriction, the state and educational institutions, public associations having non-profit Internet projects.
Acceptance of applications for participation in the contest will last till the 12th of March, 2006. All this time tens of thousands of people from Russia and other countries of the world will attentively follow its course on the official site of the Festival www.festival.webmastera.org and take part in sms-polling.
The final events of the festival will be held in Moscow from the 20th till the 26th of March, 2006. The contest project authors will take p[art in them. The hard-driving programme prepared by the organizers will be impressive and interesting. The participants will attend unique master classes, workshops and trainings with the leading Russian and foreign specialists in the sphere of Internet technologies.
The highlight of the festival will be Internet conference in the Federation Council of Russian Federation “Russian Internet is the freest Internet in the world?”, which will be held on-line. It is scheduled that the participants will discuss the problems of the development of Russian legislation in the sphere of Internet technologies and integration of Russia into the global information society. The result of the conference will be a number of particular suggestions to the Government of Russian Federation and subject ministries for improvement of the legal framework.
On the morrow of the conference the Festival Winner victory ceremony will be held with awards of diplomas and other valuable prizes from Union of Webmasters of Russia and partners of the contest.
