ZeroCarbonCity is a global campaign to raise awareness about climate change and the energy challenges facing the world’s cities.
As major energy consumers of energy, cities occupy an important position in the climate change debate. They are centres of innovation, where action is most likely to happen. Cities also have great potential to make a difference; change in cities can have a siginificant effect on the global situation.
ZeroCarbonCity Activities:

16-23 February 2006:
Large NorthSouthEastWest (NSEW) exhibition
19-20 February 2006:
School trips for students aged 12–16 to visit Bibliotheca Alexandrina. There will be various activities including competitions and prizes.
1-23 February 2006:
ZeroCarbonCity Competition - a Climate Change competition will be running online with many prizes.
NorthSouthEastWest exhibition:

The exhibition pictures real examples of our changing climate and the effects can be clearly viewed in many countries with images of extreme weather events; trends in arctic ice cap thickness; observed glacier retreats; poor urban air quality; environmental refugees; lack of available water; and impacts on biodiversity.
Ten of the world's top photographers from Magnum Photographic Agency were commissioned to capture images from ten diverse countries around the world to illustrate the impact of climate change.
