AITEC & INFOGROUPE INTERNATIONAL organised a Telecoms Central Africa Conference, 17-18 August 2006, Brazzaville, Congo Republic

Effective regulation, technology, investment & business partnerships for rapid roll-out of telecom services

Central Africa is the most under-serviced telecommunications market in the world. As such it represents a great challenge and opportunity for suppliers, regulators, policy-makers, operators and service providers.

Telecoms Central Africa provides a platform for all stakeholders active in this region to gain up-to-date market information, meet suppliers, business partners, and finance sources.

As the venue for this key regional event, Brazzaville provides a central meeting point for international suppliers and African operators, service providers, regulators and policy-makes. The following countries will be the key participating countries: Angola, Zambia, Malawi, Rwanda, Burundi, DRC, Central African Republic, Congo, Gabon, Cameroon.

These countries are among the fastest developing telecommunications markets in the world. Various factors have combined to create buoyant markets:

Ø Progressive peace and stability following years of war in some countries.
Ø Rapidly growing national budgets fired by oil revenues in many of these markets.
Ø Large expanses of territory not previously benefiting from telecommunications infrastructure.

Call for Papers:
Presentation proposals are invited, covering all aspects of telecommunications development in the region, including:

· Regulatory reform and best practices to accelerate development
· Infrastructure: Building national and regional backbones
· New technologies: VoIP, WiFi,
· Last mile solutions
· Satellite services and solutions
· Mobile networks: New technologies, value-added services,
· Changing business paradigms: Convergence of Internet and telephony services
· Donor and development partner projects.
· Finance: Leveraging oil wealth; public-private partnerships; donor funding; investment funding

Presentation proposals should be sent to Sean Moroney: seanm@aitecafrica.com.
