You are cordially invited to participate as a judge or observer for the USA SAGE competition in Brooklyn, NY on Friday, May 26, on the Kingsborough Community College campus (see http://www.csuchico.edu/sage) The SAGE mission is:
To advance entrepreneurship education and community service-learning across the world, emphasizing ethical business practices, social responsibility, civic engagement and environmental awareness. In accomplishing this mission, one team of high school students from each high school completes real-world projects under the direction and consultation of university students.
State champion high school SAGE teams from ten states will participate: CA, CO, ID, KY, NH, NV, NY, OH, PA, & SC.This program provides an outstanding arena for high school students, college students and business leaders to interact and cooperate to make our community a better place through entrepreneurship education and community service projects. Students are asked to complete projects related to:
· entrepreneurship,
· community service,
· international business,
· civic engagement in a democracy, and
· environmental awareness.
The night before, on Thursday, May 25, we will host a WELCOME RECEPTION for judges, teachers and guests at the Brooklyn Marriott (see complete agenda on SAGE web site).
The winning team advances to the Fourth Annual SAGE World Cup on August 3-6, 2006, in Shanghai, where they will compete against national SAGE champions from China, Philippines, Russia, Tajikistan, Kazakhstan, Ukraine, South Africa, Ghana, Nigeria and possibly Brazil.
