Youth Development and Voluntary Work Association invites you to take part in organizing its first annual international summers' Camps for Youth and universities students ages 18 and up.
At Bethlehem the camp will last for one week starting from the 3rd till the 9th of July 2006. Bethlehem is a city known for its rich colonial and industrial history. Today Bethlehem is experiencing an economic and cultural renaissance promising a future as bright as the city's past.
Youth Development and Voluntary Work Association has secured affordable and very attractive facilities to ensure a safe environment for a wide range of activities.
The aim of the summer camp is to enable the youth to exchang their experiences, hobbies, innovations and cultures.
Activists, artists, students and community centers are encouraged to submit proposals for this Camp and its workshop as well as organize delegations from their campuses. However, they are requested to pay camp's fees of $350 for each participants for all the summer camp activities. (The fees can be paid upon arrival of the participant)
Program areas and activities include:
* educational and political workshops.
* Dabke & other cultural experiences.
* Sports & art competitions.
* Youth challenges.
* Work days.
* Spoken word.
* Art and cultural exhibits.
Please contact us to submit workshop proposals or to organize a delegation from your campus.
The Summer Camp program starting July 3rd:
• Arrival.
• Registration, welcoming the delegations.
• Words of, Youth Development and Voluntary Work Association Chairman, young member and delegations.
• Discussions Regarding Youth ambitions.
• Welcoming party.
July 4th:
• Visiting Palestinian Refugee Camps Aida and Dhesheh.
• Visiting the Apartheid Wall and a comprehensive illustration how it effects the lives of the Palestinians.
• A lecture "The Palestinian situation after the successes of Hamas." Bethlehem Major, a Parliament member, Bethlehem Municipality chairman.
• Discussions regarding peace and war.
• Dabkeh party.
July 5th:
• Handcrafts exhibition and Youth Associations works, difficulties and ambitions. (participants are asked to bring their national handcrafts to show them to others at this exhibition).
• Visits to the old city and holy places at Bethlehem and Jerusalem.
• Discussions regarding ways of empowering the youth politically.
• Palestinian Songs party.
July 6th:
• Voluntary work at Bethlehem the old city or villages or planting olive trees close to the Apartheid wall.
• Discussion regarding Disabilities
July 7th
• Workshop "Palestinian and international youth challenges."
• Visits to Beth jala and Beth sahour.
• Discussion of Youth right and how to raise youth awareness regarding their rights.
• Dabkeh.
July 8th:
• A visit to youth organizations working on youth rights lobbying and networking.
• Discussion regarding violence and terrorism.
• Night party.
July 9th:
• Ending the camp.
• Shopping.
• Exchanging gifts.
• Suggestions.
