The preparations for the GYSD 2006 celebrations in Kaduna Nigeria have been progressive so far and have reached an advanced stage with just two days to go. The following elected officials have agreed to come and participate in the opening ceremony which comes up on the 21st of April 2006:
1. The Executive Chairman Kaduna South Local Government Kaduna State, who will be delivering the opening speech for the celebrations.
2. The Honorable Commissioner of Education, Kaduna State has agreed to deliver a talk on “Educating the Youth and Girl Child”
3. Hon. Binta Koji who is a member of the Federal House of Representative will be delivering a goodwill message to thank the volunteers for selfless service.
4. The Hon. Minority Leader Kaduna State House of Assembly has agreed to give a speech on “Mobilization for a Successful Voluntary Community Service”.
5. The District Head Barnawa where the improperly disposed waste is located will be there to talk on “the need for more voluntary services”.
We have not yet received any support from any organization but they have assured of being part of the event.
