Ombudsman of RS is preparing, together with initiative group, a consultation Zagovorništvo otrok in mladostnikov (Advocacy of children and youth) which will be held on Thursday, 20. 4., from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. in National assembly of RS.
In many complicated formal procedures a child often don't have the chance to express his/her opinion or don't know how to do it. In civil procedures the parents' interests often don't have much in common with children's interests and this can be very traumatic for a child.
The experiences show that children need an advocate that would make their voice heard. With this consultation we would like to discuss different aspects and concerns about children advocacy.
We have invited many experts and of course, also children.
The first part of the consultation will consist of different presentations and later on we will continue with discussion in working groups.
After the consultation, there is going to be a public discussion on the websites of the ombudsman of RS. The discussion will end on the 10th of May. After this date, we will prepare the final report and send it to responsible authorities. |
