Shades of Beauty is an empowerment forum for young girls (target ages 10-18) devised to address issues of self-esteem, self-love, self-valuation, image, sexuality and the true definition of beauty.
Shades of Beauty speaks to the many young girls who do not feel beautiful because they think they do not fit the definition of beauty as displayed by the girls and women on TV, and most importantly, in music videos. The forum consists of a group of esteemed panelists conducting an open dialogue and discussion addressing the following:
Definition of beauty
Myth of beauty as indicated in entertainment/music lyrics
Self-esteem and self-love
Self-valuation
Vision building
Image and sexuality |
