Name of the Open Forum: MDGs and YOUth!: making the connection
Specific issues that the Open Forum will focus on:
The Open Forum will focus on the Millenium Development Goals. There will be some education as to what these goals are and discussion as to what they mean to the youth involved in the Open Forum.
Rationale for holding this Open Forum:
This is important because youth in all communities should be connected, one way or another, to the work of the United Nations and others addressing world issues. This group of youth has just as much to contribute to action's being taken on MDGs as any other.
Goals the organizer hopes to achieve by holding this Open Forum for youth in the community:
I hope to spark interest or help channel interest in areas such as the eradication of poverty and other MDG issues. I hope to make youth in my community also aware of how others locally are working on these issues.
