DetailsAbout
Name of the Open Forum: Youth, Politics and Ethnicity

Specific issues that the Open Forum will focus on:
Politics and youth and how ethnicity and politics affects the social set up of communities.

Rationale for holding this Open Forum:
This is an election year in our country and in earlier years youths have played a passive rather than an active and positive role in choosing their leaders. This happens mostly because of social cultural settings and different ethnic backgrounds. In addition, they feel youth know nothing about leadership.

Goals the organizer hopes to achieve by holding this Open Forum for youth in the community:
An understanding of the role that youths will play in determining the next leadership and in curbing ethnic conflicts by shunning tribalism amongst themselves through electing a leader based on social responsibility and proper governance. The new leader will serve the nation rather than a particular tribe or community in which he/she comes from.

Language in which the Open Forum will be held: English'
