The MDG youth summit was a good experience for me as i got to meet other participants from other Pacific Countries and to be able to share some ideas on what can be done to help achieve the MDG's before the year 2015. Our ideas were able to create a MDG action plan and pacific plan and on the last day of the summit, these were declared and presented. (12th may 2005, Tofamamao, Apia Samoa). I enjoyed the group work, meeting and hanging out with the participants.
Now that im back from this summit, i have come back with a good knowledge of the MDG's, and want to share this with the youths of Niue. AS they say, when we return back to our home country, we have to make it happen in order to achieve the MDG's...an im looking forward to it.
SO YEAH IT WAS GOOD...REAL GOOD....

The Pacific Youth MDG Summit was well worth the five days away from the office. It was a unique occasion which allowed us the opportunity to make a declaration on the MDGs from a Pacific Youth Perspective, contribute our ideas on the upcoming 'Pacific Plan' to sterengthen regional cooperation, and most importantly an opportunity to establish a workable action plan for youth in the Cook Islandse

I felt that this was an important step in getting youth to become part of the solution to ease suffering and injustice on our world. Youth must make sure they contribute to solutions to alleviating poverty in our region. If nothing is done about it now, and youth dont become part of the development of their individual communities, countries and regions, by 2020 we will have a bigger mess to clean up than there is now!

Get out there be an active, positive, integral part of society, and build your dreams into reality.

Dear Everyone

The fact that now, even two weeks after the forum, i still miss samoa so much and am doign about 2-3 hours of YSF work a day or emailing emails is a pure testamate to how impressed I was with the work the delegates put into making this conference a success. Im very proud of you all. I really cant wait to see this declaration go to the UN and hear all the updates from all of you about the progress of your national action projects.

Also a huge credit to Charms and the Faci team - great job at running a smooth forum. Well coordinated. It still seems like a dream that a little idea kate and me worked on for 17 months turned into this amazing event!!!

You will make a huge difference to the future of the Pacific. You are the Leaders. Keep it up!

Missing everyone
